How can you help?

It's simple, you can help spread the word of DISPP by sharing the link to this website, informing others about the low number of disabled school psychologists in the field, or sharing the PDF DISPP flyer below:

Moving forward, DISPP is NOT designed to be an individual endeavor and is committed to highlighting the great work being done in the field to leverage the voices of the minoritized with a particular emphasis on current and future disabled school psychologists. With that said, the current domain has my name in it (Wix is funny about that, and I am not a web designer--at least not a good one), but moving forward my hope is that this will not be the case at all. Building a community, fostering inclusivity, and leveraging minoritized voices is critical to the field's growth and to the populations served by school psychologists. Formulation of partnerships and highlighting other's works  in this domain is vital to field advancement.

DISPP intentionally uses both identity-first (person with a disability) and person-first language (disabled person). These language choices attempt to best represent the broad perspectives of how disability is viewed across the disabled community. DISPP acknowledges that individual language preferences may vary from person to person and recognizes the ongoing evolution of terminology within the disabled community.
